When Jolie Beauty reached out and asked whether I’d be interested in working together for a second time I was absolutely delighted.
Late last year I was sent their Glitter Palette which I reviewed here, and it’s a lovely product that I can keep up my sleeve and use when I need to bring out the big guns!
The Second Skin Highlighters were launched in 2020 and come with a shade range of 4 colours;
Dreaming – light champagne tones
Saintly – very light ivory
Euphoria – warm rose-gold tones
Paradise – peachy rose-gold

The Second Skin Highlighters help to give a ‘lit from within’ look and really work to make the glow look natural; saying that, they can be build up layer by layer for an intense, eye-catching look.

The rose gold compacts are stylish and far more lightweight than expected; the highly reflective packaging giving the illusion of a solid metal casing.
Inside, the lid houses a hand mirror – and the good size of it makes it perfect for on the go touch-ups or travel.
While so many powder highlighters fall into the trap of giving too much glitter and not enough glow, Jolie Beauty have seriously nailed the combination. The sheer powder pairs perfectly with liquid foundations or blends beautifully with powder formulas.
Between the two, my favourite has to be Saintly – I’m pretty pale and don’t go in for lots of bronzer or contouring so I find that it suits my colouring more, but have tried both out and can confirm that the powders do have a decent staying powder and wore nicely throughout the day.
My tip for application would be to use a tapered highlight brush instead of the typical fan brush as it makes it easier to apply in a targeted manner and really packs the colour on. You can also use a slightly damp brush – I just use a facial mist – to get a slightly more intense tone, it does apply in a slightly creamier way which suits my dry skin!

I haven’t tried any of the other products in the Second Skin range, but I would definitely consider trying one of the bronzers when I’m next looking to buy one; something I found really helpful on the product page is that they suggest a corresponding bronzer for each highlighter to help you match the shades you’re looking for.
Obviously at the moment I don’t have much call for a full face of makeup – but when I have been applying anything, I’ve been reaching for one of the Jolie compacts and have had so many comments about my ‘glow’, so they’re certainly catching others attention.
